As obvious as the following might sound, it goes on deaf ears way too often. But, here we go anyway…..
So you have that much desired interview; a potential career maker; an opportunity to take your career to the next level without having to shoot your boss in the back. Don’t blow it, please!
From this recruiter’s perspective of 30 years you “gotta”:
- Get There On Time, That means 10 minutes early
- Dress Your Interview Appropriate Best: Either your “Casual Jeans Best”, “Business Casual Best”, or “Your Corporate Best” (and do a mirror check before going up)
- NEVER speak negatively about your current or former employer…..NEVER! Besides, that’s your opinion
- Be “Humbly Proud” of your accomplishments – No one likes a bragger
- Leave your cell phone at the door: SHUT IT OFF; not even on vibrate
- Ask mind blowing, phenomenal, thought provoking question(s). You’re striving for the following response, “Ya Know, That’s a Terrific Question”
