As recruiters, there’s just so much we can do to guide a “qualified candidate” through the interview process. Unfortunately, we lose 100% control of the situation once the candidate gets off the phone after a thorough prep call for the interview. What do they say, “you can lead the horse to water, but you can make him/her drink”? Of course since a recruiter’s livelihood rests on the candidate’s ability to deliver (on the interview), it becomes increasingly frustrating when they bomb due to lack of preparation.
